Artist Statement
Kirsi Hallberg is a Swedish fine artist known for her evocative portraits of women, created through a unique combination of charcoal and oil paint.
Kirsi has been painting and drawing since childhood, finding in art a source of calm, security, and a creative outlet — a meditative practice that grounds her. Though she attended an art-focused program in high school, Kirsi is largely self-taught, having refined her skills through numerous courses in life drawing, oil painting, and sketching.
Her process begins with detailed charcoal sketches on fine linen canvases or high-quality paper, layering translucent oils to create depth and texture. Each piece invites the viewer into a space where realism meets abstraction, exploring themes of stillness, inner strength, and the complexity of human emotion.
Kirsi’s works have been exhibited in several galleries, and her art is held in private collections across the Nordic region. Based in Sweden, she continues to evolve her artistic voice, creating meaningful, emotionally resonant works that inspire reflection and connection.
Grateful for your presence and the connection you bring to my work.
